In 1933, The Central Airport (Okęcie) took over the care of all traffic from the Pole Mokotowskie. During World War II, Okęcie was frequently used as a field between the German Army and Polish opposition and was practically destruct. After freeing, LOT Polish Airlines restarted functioning at Okęcie, using pre-war base. In 1956, upkeep of Okęcie was reassigned from LOT Polish Airlines to province disposal. In 1969 a new international depot was made to deal 1 million riders each year, few yr afterwards a separate, impermanent reaching hallway was made. Meanwhile, domestic voyages elongated to function from the installations built on the location of the pre-war depot. In 1992, a new depot (T1), with capacity for 3.5 million riders per yr, was made to replace the senesce complex from the communistic epoch. In March 2001, Warsaw Airport was renamed in honor of the Polish piano player Frédéric Chopin (though this name is about ne'er used in pattern, and most users know the location just as Okęcie). In 2005, the old reaching hallway from 70s was renovated and reopened, and under the name "Etiuda" got a impermanent depot for the low-cost traffic. Since 2007 the T2, a new constructed depot adjacent to T1, has been bit by bit taking over the major division of the traffic.
