U-Tapao International Airport (IATA: UTP, ICAO: VTBU), also spell out Utapao and U-Taphao, is a joint civilimilitary public airport assisting Rayong, a town in Thailand. It is about 90 land mile (140 kilometre) southeastward of Bangkok, near Sattahip on the Gulf of Siam. It is turn up southward of path three (Thanon Sukhumvit) at kilometer 189, approximately a 45 min drive from Pattaya (Thailand's most popular beach fall back).
It also assists as the U-Tapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield, place of the Royal Thai Navy First Air Wing.
U-Tapao is the place of a big Thai Airways care installation, servicing that air hose's aircraft as good as those of other clients.
Due to the encirclement of Bangkok's airports by resistance demonstrators, U-Tapao briefly got the independent air gateway to Thailand between November 26 and December 5, 2008.
