Uranium City Airport, (IATA: YBE, ICAO: CYBE), is turn up 4 NM (7.4 kilometre; 4.6 mi) east of Uranium City, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is sort out as a Code two airport.
The airport was originally build by Eldorado Mining and Refining Limited in the 1950s to back up the turning mining functioning around Uranium City. Transport Canada presumed ownership in the 1970s.
After the loss of the community's mining industry, Uranium City set about a sharp depopulation. The Saskatchewan provincial authority presumed ownership of the airport in early 1997 from Transport Canada. The installation was downgraded 2 yr afterwards as its landing track was shortened from 5,000 foot (1,500 m) to its current 3,930 foot (1,200 m), while the landing track's breadth was halved to 100 foot (30 m).
