Thunder Bay Airport or Thunder Bay International Airport, (IATA: YQT, ICAO: CYQT), is an airport in the Canadian town of Thunder Bay, Ontario. With 95,919 aircraft motions in 2007 it is the 6th busiest airport in Ontario. In 2006 the airport put down 100,154 aircraft movements and was the 15th busiest airport in Canada. In 2007 there was a 4.4% fall to 95,919 surviving the 21st busiest.

The airport is sort out as an airport of entry by NAV CANADA and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency. CBSA military officers at this airport now is able to deal aircraft with no more than 40 riders.

History

Originally named the Fort William Municipal Airport, building set about in 1938, partially as a averages of palliating unemployment. The airport was handed over from the authority in 1997 to the Thunder Bay International Airports Authority, a non-profit organisation. The airport dealt over 600,000 riders in 2006 for the 1st clip since 2001.

During World War II, the Thunder Bay (then Fort William) airport was place to No. two Elementary Flying Training School, division of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan.
