Las Américas International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional Las Américas-JFPG) (IATA: SDQ, ICAO: MDSD) is an international airport turn up in Punta Caucedo, near Santo Domingo and Boca Chica in the Dominican Republic. The airport is run by Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (AERODOM), a Dominican Republic-based private company, with a 25-year grant to construct, function, and transport (BOT) six airports in the Dominican Republic.

Recently, the state highway direct from Santo Domingo to the airport (or so 20 kilometre east of the town centre) was spread out and overhauled. The new state highway cuts across a new suspension span which traverses the Ozama River, link up traffic into the town's Elevated Freeway and Tunnel system onto the town's high street, Av. 27 de Febrero. A more scenic path coming after the coastal shore furnishes beautiful positions of the Caribbean Sea and of the town. This secondary road tracks the Ozama River by averages of a pontoon bridge, link up traffic onto the Av. George Washington (elevated railroad Malecón) which takes into the bosom of the colonial town.

The airport is the biggest in the Dominican Republic and 1 of the biggest in the Caribbean, deal over 3 million riders per yr through its air depot.

Las Américas Airport was opened in 1959 as the functionary airport of Santo Domingo.

The functionary name of the airport was modified in 2002 to "Aeropuerto Internacional Las Américas- José Francisco Peña Gómez (AIJFPG)" but is most normally bring up to as "Las Américas International Airport", or locally, "Las Américas".

On February 15, 1970, a Dominicana de Aviación's DC-9 that was winging to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, crashed, assassination all 102 individuals on board (see: Dominicana DC-9 air calamity).
