It is a subject and international airport, open to regular and irregular voyages, and to both private and rider programmes. The independent landing track is able to deal planes with up to around 180 riders.
History
Before the building of this airport, Rennes had a little hippodrome which was used as a districting strip in Gayeulles, to the north east of the town. In 1931 work commenced on a proper airport to service Rennes, and a game of 380,000 square meter in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande to the south west of the town was get and construction set about. On Jul 28, 1933 the new airport was officially opened by Pierre Cot.
Runways

Due to the raising traffic in the Nantes Atlantique Airport (draw close its impregnation), there is currently an ongoing regional labor to construct a 2nd big airport between Rennes and Nantes that will service both towns. This will claim construction faster and more frequent theodolite services with both towns and to their being airports, through the modernisation of the being regional Rennes-Nantes railway line link up through Redon, and the interconnectedness with their fast TGV railroads terminal.
