William R. Fairchild International Airport (IATA: CLM, ICAO: KCLM) is a public airport turn up in Clallam County near the Strait of Juan de Fuca, 3 land mile (five kilometre) northwest of Port Angeles, Washington, U.S.

History

The airport was evolved from 1934 through 1948 by the Works Progress Administration, the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. It was named Clallam County Municipal Landing Field when ownership was given to Clallam County in 1948. Three yr afterward the county reassigned the airport to the Port of Port Angeles. In 1953, William R. Fairchild set about the Angeles Flying Service and got the 1st airport supervisor. The airport was renamed in his honour in 1969, coming after his decease in a tragic aircraft accident.

Fairchild Airport covers more than 800 acres (3.2 kilometretwo) of holding, with 690 in aeronautic use. The primary landing track is functioned with an Instrument Landing System and is able to deal aircraft up to Boeing 737s.
