Son Sant Joan Airport busies an area of 6.3 km². Due to rapid climb of rider figure, additional base was added to the 2 depots A (1965) and B (1972). This independent depot was projected by local designer Pere Nicolau Bonet and was officially opened on April 12, 1997. The airport currently dwells of 4 entrance area : Terminal A is largely used for domestic voyages, while Terminals B, C and D are for international traffic. The airport is able to deal 25 million riders per yr, with a capacity to send off 12,000 riders per 60 minute. Future programs include an increase of the rider capacity to 32 million riders in 2010 and to 38 million riders in 2015.
