The airport is ranked tenth amongst German airports and 67th in Europe. It is also a hub for Air Berlin - Germany's 2nd biggest air hose. In 2007 more than 4.2 million riders were dealt.
Ground transportation system
The airport is turn up seven kilometre (five land mile) northward of the town center. The U-Bahn (Metro) line U2 links the airport with the center of the town every ten to 15 min., and takes only twelve min. to hit the Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station) and the nearby Altstadt (historic old city). Because of the airport's close-in place and its direct connexions to local street, it is possible to walk or sit a cycle from nearby vicinities right up to the depot.
