Norfolk Island Airport (IATA: NLK, ICAO: YSNF) is the only airport on Norfolk Island, an external district of Australia.
History
The landing strip was made during World War II as a defensive measure out to counter feared Japanese functioning in the South Pacific. As Norfolk Island did not have enough flat land, several dozers were used to strike hard the top off of several hills, and fill in the vales between them.
