History

Narvik Airport was made as division of the regional airport web in Northern Norway in the 1970, being originally assisted by Widerøe. In 2003 Kato Air won the contract on the Bodø - Narvik - Tromsø path. The little size of the airport, united with the propinquity to Evenes (79 kilometre route), do NVK a nominee for closing from March 31, 2006. However, the airport stay open and Widerøe get over the Narvik paths from Kato Air. When Widerøe took over the path with somewhat bigger aircraft (Dash eight instead than Dornier 228), the traffic nearly duplicate to 2,000 riders per calendar month.
