It is the hub for the national bearer Oman Air. The distance from Old Muscat is 30 kilometer and it is 15km from the briny residential neighborhoods. At the minute the airport is being spread out and modernised. The airport shall be upgraded to twelve million-passenger capacity during the initial level and afterwards to 48 million. Expansions
The enlargement labor for Muscat International Airport will include a new modern depot and a new landing track that is able to manage the new Airbus A380.
