Multan International Airport (IATA: MUX, ICAO: OPMT) is an airport located ten kilometer off from the town center of Multan in Punjab, Pakistan. It is not as big as the other airports in Pakistan, as it functions to provide primarily to the population of Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Sahiwal, and Pakpattan.

Structure

The CAA of Pakistan has set aside RS. 4.5million, to upgrade and better Multan Airport. The advised improvements include extension of landing track from 9,000 to 11,000 human foot, increasing the breadth of landing track to 150 human foot with 25 human foot shoulders on each side, hence the landing track shall be upgraded to Category E (Suitable for Boeing 747 aircraft). Other improvements will include enlargement of depot constructions. The 1st stage of the work will set about in springtime 2008.
