Molde Airport, Årø (IATA: MOL, ICAO: ENML) (Norwegian: Molde lufthavn, Årø) seves the town of Molde, Møre og Romsdal and the border land of Romsdal, turn up six kilometre east of the town. After the kick off in 1972, services have been principally to Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. The airport had 403,150 depot riders in 2007.
History
The Norwegian air power dominances make up one's mind to construct 2 airports in Møre og Romsdal, 1 assisting Ålesund, Vigra and 1 assisting Kristiansund, Kvernberget, and not at Molde. Molde determined that they also take an airport, and the town financed the airport that was complete in 1972. Braathens S.A.F.E stated they would wing if the town makes an airport, and were the only air hose at the airport until after the deregulating of the air hose marked, assisting with Fokker F-27, Fokker F-28 and Boeing 737. Braathens regional air hose Busy Bee and Norwegian Air Shuttle also functioned Fokker 50. In 1978 the airport was handed over to the authority. A new rider depot opened in the early 1990s.
In 2005 the airport acquired lasting international position, and currently has a duty free in the going area . Extension of the landing track to 1,980 metres LDA and 2,050 metres TORA is about complete (opens Oct 01 2008), alongside with other improvements, including an upgrade of the depot with a new reaching and baggage demand area including a new duty free.
