Lethbridge County Airport or Lethbridge Airport, (IATA: YQL, ICAO: CYQL), is turn up 4 NM (7.4 kilometre; 4.6 mi) southward southeastward of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. It is 10-15 driving min. from the business district area and has scheduled service to the Alberta towns of Calgary and Edmonton. The airport is sort out as an airport of entry by NAV CANADA and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency. History
Originally known as Kenyon Field, this airport set about rider services in October 1938, but officially opened in June 1939. Previous to this, the town functioned air power actions in area now busy by Exhibition Park and Lethbridge Collegiate Institute.
From 1939–1948, Lethbridge functioned as Western Canada's primary airline hub. At the eruption of World War II, Kenyon Field got a preparation installation under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP). The station was functioned and administrated by the Royal Canadian Air Force and named RCAF Station Lethbridge. Beginning in July 1940, the airport hosted No. five Elementary Flying Training School (EFTS). Instruction was supplied by fellow member of the local winging baseball club. Since the airport frequently see eminent air current, the flying school travel to small windy High River in June 1941.
Late in 1941, the No. eight Bombing and Gunnery School, also a BCATP grooming installation, opened at the station. Since district was claimed for gunnery and bombing pattern, approximately 100 square land mile (260 kilometretwo) was rent from the Blood Indian Reserve turn up nearby. Aircraft used by this school included Fairey Battles, Lysanders, Ansons, and Bolingbrokes.
No. 133 (Fighter) Squadron was characteristic here in June 1942, winging Hurricanes and Harvards. The squadron travel to Boundary Bay, British Columbia in October 1942.

In 1947, the RCAF's mess hallway was changed over by the Department of Transportation (currently Transport Canada) into an Air Terminal Building, which was replaced by the current installation in 1979.
The County of Lethbridge presumed ownership of the airport on one January 1997, and it was later named the Lethbridge County Airport.
