Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget (IATA: KSU, ICAO: ENKB) (Norwegian: Kristiansund lufthavn, Kvernberget) is a medium size international airport turn up next to the little mountain Kvernberget ten kilometer from city heart of Kristiansund in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway, opened in 1970 and supplies to the county's northern land, Nordmøre. In 2007 the airport had 364,350 riders. Travellers should make a point they avoid mixup with the airport Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik in southern Norway.

There is also a heliport at Kvernberget for winging oil business force to/from offshore rigs on the many oil and gaseous state fields off the mid-Norwegian seashore.

History

Kvernberget was opened in 1970 to assist the northern one-half of the county Møre og Romsdal: Nordmøre and Romsdal. But in 1972 Molde, the capital of Møre and Romsdal, opened its own airport. Originally the airport was assisted by Braathens S.A.F.E, who held the domestic monopoly on services to the airport also after the deregulating of the Norwegian airline market place. In 2005 it was united into SAS Braathens.

In 2006 an upgrade of the depot was finished, and by the finish of the yr a new duty free shop shop shall be complete. By 2011 the landing track will most probably be spread out to 2000 metres, letting such aircraft as Airbus A330 and Boeing 767 to bring down.
