Klamath Falls Airport (IATA: LMT, ICAO: KLMT), also known as Kingsley Field, is a joint civil-military public airport turn up 4 land mile (six kilometre) southeastward of Klamath Falls, in Klamath County, Oregon, USA. The airport has 2 landing track. It is largely used for armed forces and civil aviation, but is also assisted by 2 commercial air hose.
As an Air National Guard ground, the airport assists as the place of the Oregon Air National Guard's 173rd Fighter Wing (173 FW) winging the F-15 Eagle. An Air Education and Training Command (AETC)-gained unit, the 173 FW narrow down as an advanced air-to-air armed combat grooming heart for Regular Air Force and Air National Guard F-15 airplane pilots, as good as hosting joint and united air armed combat physical exercises for all US armed forces services and those of Canada. In 1928 the citizens of Klamath Falls okayed the sale of $50,000 worth of chemical bonds to build an airport. The airport was known as the Klamath Falls Municipal Airport and lie of crushed rock landing track and 1 Fixed Base Operator. In 1942, the airport was take as a location for a Naval Air Station later named NAS Klamath Falls. In 1945, the airport reassigned dorsum to civilian use.
In 1954, the airport was take as a location for U.S. Air Force installment under a joint civil-military agreement back up Air Defense Command, after Aerospace Defense Command (ADC) aircraft and squadrons. In 1957, the airport was give as Kingsley Field in honour of First Lieutenant David David R. Kingsley, USAAF, an Oregonian assassination in activeness on June 23, 1944 after a B-24 bombing foreign mission over the oil fields of Ploesti, Rumania.
