Kilimanjaro International Airport (IATA: JRO, ICAO: HTKJ) is the 2nd, albeit little international airport of Tanzania (the 1st is Julius Nyerere International Airport). It assists the Kilimanjaro area  including the towns of Arusha and Moshi near Mount Kilimanjaro, and the international touristry industry found on Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park. The airport ways itself as "the gateway to Africa's wildlife heritage".

Many international visitants also go to national parks area in Kenya, to the Indian Ocean seacoast and islands such as Zanzibar, and to Lake Victoria, reflected in the routes of connecting voyages.

Despite its little size, the airport is able to deal aircraft up to Boeing 747s.

The airport assisted 294,750 riders in 2004.
