Kigali International Airport (IATA: KGL, ICAO: HRYR), once known as Gregoire Kayibanda International Airport, is the primary airport assisting Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. It is the independent air gateway for all destinations in the state, and in addition assists as a theodolite airport for Goma and Bukavu in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The airport is turn up in the suburban area of Kanombe, at the eastern border of Kigali, about 12 klicks (7.2 mi) from the town center.
