Hakodate Airport (函館空港, Hakodate Kūkō?) (IATA: HKD, ICAO: RJCH), is an airport turn up 10 kilometre (6.2 mi) east of central Hakodate, a town in Hokkaidō, Japan. It is functioned by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

History

Hakodate airport opened in 1961 and is turn up by the seas around 10 kilometre from the town center.

On September 6, 1976, Soviet airplane pilot Viktor Belenko deserted to the West by districting a MiG-25 Foxbat aircraft at Hakodate Airport.
