Runways
Until 1960 there were 4 grass landing track, with lengths bushing from 2,040 foot (622 m) to 3,060 foot (933 m). In 1960, the new macadamised landing track of a length of 4,800 foot (1,463 m) was opened. It is still in use currently, although some air hose and other interested grouping demand an extension is necessary to let use of more modern aircraft, such as Flybe, who desire to be able to take their Embraer 195s into Guernsey, instead than the little de Havilland Dash 8s, to feed the tourist industry during the summertime season. Maybe irrationally they impeach the Guernsey authority of 'dragging their human foot' over landing track extentions in their release regarding a fifth rotary motion of their Guernsey - London Gatwick service from June 29th, with de Havilland Dash 8s.
