Transportation
The airport is within walking distance of Flughafen Graz-Feldkirchen railroad terminal (approximately four min. on human foot, outlet to the right of the platform), which lies on the Graz to Spielfeld-Straß line. The travel clip to the airport from Graz briny station is about twelve min. by regional railroad train.
Airport history
The building of the airport set about in 1913 with the building of a grass landing track and the 1st depots; the airport saw its 1st voyage in 1914. It was the location of the stockade, Talerhof, run by the authorities of Franz Joseph I of Austria and Karl I of Austria. The 1st rider domestic voyage in Austria, in 1925, serviced the path Vienna-Graz-Klagenfurt. In 1937, the building of a depot construction set about due to increase in the figure of riders.
After the finish of the Second World War, nevertheless, Austria was disallowed to possess an air power fleet, either armed forces or polite. After reopening of Austrian air space in 1951, a new concrete landing track of 1500m was built in Graz. This landing track was continued to 2000m in 1962.
