Weeze Airport or Niederrhein Airport (IATA: NRN, ICAO: EDLV) is an airport located in the little municipality of Weeze in the Niederrhein (Lower Rhineland) of western Germany. It is approximately 33 klicks (21 mi) southeastward of Nijmegen, Netherlands and 48 kilometre (30 mi) northwest of Duisburg. It stand up on the location of the former armed forces airbase RAF Laarbruch, and set about functioning as a polite airport in 2003.

Weeze Airport is used only by low-cost bearers, principally Ryanair. Its IATA-Code is “NRN” because of its former name Flughafen Niederrhein.

The airport has undergone several name modifies. The operators originally desired to name it after the town of Düsseldorf, but the eminent distance to that town, which already had 3 closer international airports (Düsseldorf International, Düsseldorf-Mönchengladbach and Cologne/Bonn), ensued in the name being block up by a tribunal patterning that it was likely to lead astray riders. However, air hose which use the airport, especially Ryanair, still name to it as 'Düsseldorf (Weeze)'.

The airport really assists more better the closer Dutch towns of Venlo, Nijmegen and Arnhem, the German town of Duisburg and the immediate Weeze area .

There are direct public passenger vehicle to Düsseldorf, only nine per solar day. There are also coaches to Weeze, Duisburg and Essen in Germany and to the Dutch towns Nijmegen, Venlo and Arnhem every 60 minute.

In 2008, with 1.52 mil. riders, which corresponded development of 80% on the previous yr, it was amongst Europe’s fastest-growing airports.
