Duluth International Airport (IATA: DLH, ICAO: KDLH, FAA LID: DLH) is a public airport turn up 5 land mile (eight kilometre) northwest of the central downtown (CBD) of Duluth, in St. Louis County, Minnesota, USA. It assists the Duluth-Superior area including Superior, Wisconsin. The airport covers 3,020 acres (twelve km²) and has 2 landing track. It is largely used for civil aviation but is also assisted by 2 commercial air hose.
The Minnesota Air National Guard's 148th Fighter Wing, fit out with F-16C Fighting Falcons is ground at Duluth International Airport.
Overview
In 1974, a new Terminal Building and U.S. Customs, International Arrivals Building, were finished east of Runway 3-21 and open for functioning. Runway 13-31 was shortened to 2,578 human foot (786 m) to adapt building of an addition to the International Arrivals construction. This ensued in Runway 13-31 being closed as a landing track due to obstructers. Runway 13-31 was afterwards re-striped in 1980, falling its breadth to 75 human foot (23 m), for use as a taxi strip only. In 1989, the new Terminal construction and the adjacent building were linked to characteristic 1 enclosure. The original depot construction was then changed over for use as business office for civil aviation, the FAA, and the U.S. Weather Bureau.
Future air service The Duluth Airport board is now looking for possible bearers to assist Duluth International Airport. The most desired new service is non-stop service to Chicago (American Airlines used to have Chicago O'Hare-Duluth service but had to halt this service because of voyage limitations at Chicago O'Hare Airport). The amalgamation of Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines is able to effect in non-stop service from Duluth to Atlanta, Cincinnati, or Salt Lake City.
New depot A new depot is being be after to replace the old depot at the Duluth International Airport. The new depot shall be able to care more individuals, voyages, and air hose.
