Centennial Airport (IATA: APA, ICAO: KAPA) lies within unincorporated Arapahoe and Douglas Counties, near Denver, Colorado. The airport opened on May 12, 1967 as Arapahoe County Airport, and was renamed to its current name July 13, 1984. It is not named after the nearby town of Centennial, having ravened it by 17 yr.
In 1985, a new control tower was made. It is an international airport with uninterrupted U.S. Customs services and ranks as the 2nd busiest civil aviation airport in the United States in terms of set off and landings, after Van Nuys Airport, with mean of 874 functioning per solar day. It is continuously assisted by a Federal Aviation Administration control tower and link up air traffic command services, as good as U.S. Customs. It has 3 runways — 17/35 Left and Right, and 10/28. Runway 35R has a Category I Instrument Approach.
