Dalbandin Airport (IATA: DBA, ICAO: OPDB) is a little domestic airport turn up at Dalbandin, in the Balochistan district of Pakistan. There are 2 weekly Fokker voyages of PIA to/from Karachi.
History
Dalbandin landing strip was build in 1935 to assist as a artificial satellite of Samungli Airbase at Quetta. During the Second World War, it was do operationally ready by Royal Air Force to run across a possible Russian invasion through Iran. In the 1970s Dalbandin was a disused field. Although the landing strip is seeable from high height, airplane pilots doing a districting draw close sometimes constitute that the landing strip goes away, with sand dune and sand roll up on the landing track beclouding it from position. Dust violent storms are frequent and do hold up in acquiring airborne.
The field was taken over by the Civil Aviation Administraiton in 1985, it had a face lifting, partly funded by Saudi Arabia, which supplied modern navigational helps, air traffic command installations, rider depots and a paved landing track. There is twice a hebdomad scheduled Pakistan International Airlines service to and from Karachi. While not a armed forces installation, this field is available to the Pakistan Air Force for emergency districting and recovery of aircraft during peacetime and wartime.
Currently the United States Marine Corps use Dalbandin as a ground for functioning into Afghanistan.
