Future programmes and enlargement
Currently, Burgas airport is theme to heavy traffic coming after the turning touristry industry in Bulgaria and is in demand of major investing to modernise, spread out and deal projected rider traffic. In June 2006, the Bulgarian Government presented Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide a 35 yr long grant on both Varna and Burgas airports in return for investing surpassing €500 million.
Fraport shall be in partnership with Varna-based corporation BM Star. The concessioner has vowed to shoot 403 million Euro in the 2 airports during the lifetime of the agreement. Fraport stated it will pay 60% of an investing of EUR 403 million over the 35 yr grant. The investing shall be made in new depot installations, vehicles and equipment and spreading out apron area at the airports over the life of the grant Fraport shall be the guide spouse, with a 60% percentage, in a pool with BM Star of Bulgaria.
