Woodbourne Aerodrome (IATA: BHE, ICAO: NZWB) is a little, commanded airport turn up 3NM (eight kilometre) due west of Blenheim in the South Island of New Zealand, on State Highway Six, Middle Renwick Road.
History
Woodbourne was 1 of the 1st airports in New Zealand. Today it is 1 of the few staying air pressure ground (RNZAF Base Woodbourne); with general upkeep and initial grooming dealt there. Woodbourne also assists as the polite airport for Blenheim. Runway 06R/24L was seal off for Fokker Friendships in 1961, and was 1 of the 1st regional airports in the land to take turbo-propeller plane aircraft.
Today it has more frequent functioning, with Air New Zealand's regional subsidiary Eagle Airways using Beechcraft 1900 aircraft. The busiest path from Blenheim stays across the Cook Strait to Wellington, 80km to the north east; voyages take only 20 5 min., and Eagle Airways functions 13 each weekday. Sometimes an Air National Jetstream 32 is leased by the air hose to augment functioning. Eagle Airways also functions voyages to Christchurch and Auckland.
