Bhopal Airport (IATA: BHO, ICAO: VABP) is a public domestic airport assisting Bhopal in the province of Madhya Pradesh, India. The name of the airport is Raja Bhoj Airport. It is turn up in Bairagarh which lies 15 kilometre (9.3 mi) north west of Bhopal town center on National Highway 12.

Future Plans

Bhopal Airport is slated to get an international airport by 2010 with initial voyages functioning to the Middle East. It shall be the 2nd international airport in central India after Nagpur.

The programme is to increase the landing track length in 2 levels, 1st to 9,000 foot (2,700 m) and then afterwards to 11,500 foot (3,500 m).

A new depot is planned and in the time to come, voyages would also continue to South Asian Countries. The new depot foundation rock was layed on 20th February,2009.
