Berbera Airport is an airport in Berbera, Somalia (IATA: BBO, ICAO: HCMI). The airport has a 4,140m (13,582ft) landing track, 1 of the longest in Africa. The landing track was made by the Soviet Union (USSR) in the mid-1970s in say to counter the United States armed forces presence in the district. It was used as an emergency districting location for the Space Shuttle in the 1970-1991, when the authority fell.
