This airport used to assist as the hub for break airline Air Aruba, which was for many yr an international air hose. Before Aruba's separation from the Netherlands Antilles in 1986 it was also 1 of 3 hubs for Air ALM. The airport has a new air hose, Tiara Air and Aruba Airlines.
The airport offers US Border Pre-clearance installations.
